As a Polish national and a Taiwan GC holder I can only say I’m sorry about this bullshit. While we value his contribution to Polish democracy, he is not representing the Polish state/people anymore and had a ‘thing’ for making stupid comments even in presidential election debates…

You befuddlement is exactly what makes this so befuddling. There is no lack of expertise within Taiwan on all of the countries Taiwan is trying to engage with, yet why does MOFA consistently reject expertise and strategic advice and continue to create such embarrassing situations? This applies not just to Europe, but Taiwan’s engagement with the United States and other countries.
